Meet Patrick

Patrick completed a Systems Agricultural Degree at Hawkesbury Agricultural College which fostered his interest in people’s relationship with the land. This led to a PhD in Rural Sociology at Southern Cross University, examining the influence of interests and interest groups on Australia’s Landcare Program. He’s worked with all three spheres of government, travelled widely, volunteering in Indonesia, Thailand and Ecuador in community development. He’s also served as a Councillor on Byron Shire Council and Rous Water.

He’s married with two children and divides his time between conserving a protected rainforest remnant in the Northern Rivers of New South Wales and living at Manly by the Sea.
